RENOVATION & RESTORATION

Over time, every golf course will find the need for renovation. The impetus behind the renovation will be unique to each course, but that impetus can ultimately be attributed to age. Some golf courses age more gracefully than others. Those that were well conceived, properly constructed and adequately maintained can postpone the aging process, but age will eventually take its toll. The aging process becomes apparent in several ways. It can appear in diminished infrastructure, declining turf quality, the impact of advancements in golf equipment on playability or in the dated appearance of the golf course.

JMP’s experience in golf course renovation and restoration is extensive. Our projects range from the renovation of a single green, tee or bunker to the creation of Long Range Master Plans and the total redesign and reconstruction of the entire golf course.

Many of our renovation projects are in such poor condition or they are so devoid of character that they require an approach that provides entirely new infrastructure and a dramatic new design style. Others possess such historical significance or such intrinsic beauty that they require a very delicate “Restoration” approach to modifications and improvements.
